Lyrics of “Ke Lat Basyo Malai”

Ke lat basyo malai
Kahile sudhar hunchha
Ekdin timi na boldaa
Yo Dil bimaar hunchha
Ke Lat basyo malai…

Sathi rahechha dukha
Harpal Sawaar hunchha|
Sukha pahuna rahechhan
Chhutnai hatar hunchha…
Ke Lat basyo malai…

Pani parera dharti
Aakash hunchha sundar
Dharti banera timro
Ke nai bigaar hunchha
Ke Lat basyo malai…

Khola nadi samundra
Je naam hos na aakhir
Astitwa rakhi rakhne
Matrai kinaar hunchha
Ke Lat basyo malai…

Ke lat basyo malai
Kahile sudhar hunchha
Ekdin timi na boldaa
Yo Dil bimaar hunchha

The Emotional Experience

What makes “Ke Lat Basyo Malai” so special is the melody or lyrics and the way they work together to create an emotional experience that is hard to describe. The Production and Arrangement

The arrangement and production of the song are also worth mentioning. Kandel, the arranger, and recordist of the song, has done an excellent job of capturing the essence of the ghazal and creating a modern and traditional sound. The use of live instruments, such as the tabla and sitar, gives the song a sense of authenticity that is missing from many modern productions. This song was carefully and thoughtfully produced, and its attention to detail distinguishes it from other songs of the same genre.

Pela’s Musical Journey

Tilak Singh Pela has been active in the classical music scene for three decades, steeped in musical practice more profound than the limelight. He was fascinated by music since childhood, and his first song was “Kahani Banena Mero Kehi Yestai Bhayo Jindagi Mero,” which he recorded from Music Nepal. He then released the “Aansu” album in 1996, becoming the first modern song album recorded by a musician from Sudurpashchim.

Pela’s love for classical music began when he observed “Ramlila” performances in Baitadi, his home district. He composes his tunes and tries to combine natural tunes with musical instruments to create soulful music that speaks to the heart. Pela has long taught music and vocal at Shree Krishna Gurukul Sangeet Pathshala in addition to composing songs

Another fact

The song has become so popular that the song is based on ragmalkosh. Ragmalkosh is a musical classification system used in North Indian classical music. It combines two words – ‘raga’- melody and ‘mala’- garland. The system was developed to help classify and memorize various ragas and their characteristics.

In the Ragmalkosh system, each raga is assigned to a particular category or family based on its musical characteristics, such as its notes, melody, time of performance, and mood. This categorization is done by comparing the similarities and differences between different ragas and organizing them into a hierarchical structure. The system is often represented as a table or chart, with the different ragas arranged in rows and columns based on their musical features.

Ragmalkosh is an essential tool for both musicians and students of Eastern classical music as it helps in understanding the relationships between different ragas and identifying a particular raga’s musical features. It also aids in developing improvisational skills, as musicians can use the information provided by the system to create new melodies and variations.

Thanks for the detailed information about the Ghazal. But it’s Pela not Pella which is mis typed in many places.
The other thing, in FAQs, it is written that the ghazal was composed by Nepali musician Pradeep Kumar Mainali, But Dr. Mainali is ghazal writer not a musician.
